Massilly Services has developed a wide range of capping machines: semi-automatic (from 600 to 1500 pots/hour) and automatic (from 1800 to 30,000 pots/hour) for Twist Off (Eurotwist), PT, CT capsules. Our packaging solutions include steam vacuum capping for most products, as well as dry vacuum capping suitable for sensitive products such as mayonnaise, spreads, powders and dry products.

The capping machines are suitable for packaging agri-food products such as jams, honey, spreads, foie gras, pâtés, terrines, condiments, vegetables, as well as cosmetic products such as creams, scrubs, waxes, etc.

The capping

As a general rule, the principle of closing wide-mouth metal capsules requires the creation of a vacuum during the capping operation.

Indeed, this vacuum is intended to:
– guarantee the hold of the capsule and the sealing of the container.
– limit the internal pressure in the packaging in the event of heat treatment.
– reduce the amount of oxygen inside the packaging, this gas being able, in certain proportions, to degrade the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of the packaged products and promote a possible corrosion process of the capsules.
